Colorado Wilderness Outfitters, Inc. is located in the southwest corner of Colorado in Durango. Our areas encompass the La Plata Mountains, the San Juan National Forest, Weminuche Wilderness Area and the Rio Grande National Forest. Colorado Wilderness Outfitters, Inc. is registered, bonded, and insured as a Colorado licensed outfitter. Colorado Wilderness Outfitters, Inc. operates under special use permit by the San Juan National Forest, an Equal Opportunity Employer, license #2388.

Since 1993, Colorado Wilderness Outfitters have successfully hunted these mountains with horses and llamas. The use of llamas enables us to get into that "untouched" elk country and pack your harvest out of any terrain; giving the hunter an unlimited hunting experience.
